Institution Logo

We started planning our institution logo. To begin with we wanted to keep the text simplistic and clean cut. We had the text written in capitals horizontally. Although we liked the appearance of this we felt it was too basic and didn't leave a lasting effect on the audience.
We then developed the text into a vertical layout, we felt this appeared more interesting however one we asked members around they said it was slightly unclear to read.
We felt the the text was too unclear and needed to be thicker therefore we made the letter thicker to stand out more. Underneath the font we included 'media productions'
Our final draft was with the letters 'g' and 'd' shaded in. This created more dynamic to the image and although it still appears clean cut and professional. Using a software called After effects I created the logo with a black background and white font. The smoke was added for effect to make the logo appear more neo noir.

Title fonts and ideas
We began by collecting some possible font ideas for our film 'The Lockdown' we then decided to ask some members to choose which font the felt would best suit a film noir, mystery/ detective film to help us choose our final font.

Neo Noir Costume Plan
Femme Fatale Costume
Dress 1- We decided to have the femme fatale in a tight red dress, the red due to the connotations of blood, danger, and lust. The reveling style of the dress makes the femme fatale appear seductive and manipulative. We centered around creating a glamorous bold character.
Dress 2- Still very similar to the first dress bold, and bright; we wanted the femme fatale to stand out. The character of the femme fatale is being presented as a binary opposite to the wife, she is in stark contrast to her as she is wearing bright seductive clothing and expensive accessories.Dress 1 (with jacket) - we decided to add a leather jacket not only for practical reasons due to the typical British weather, but because it creates a 'bad girl' vibe about our character, it makes the character relate more to the protagonist as she appears to not follow the rules as much.
Suit- We wanted the protagonist to look powerful and wealthy, we chose an expensive suit as it makes him look important and smart, as if he takes his job seriously.
Purple Tie- In addition to the suit we wanted the protagonist to wear a purple tie because the colour purple connotes wealth and luxury. This emphasizes his profession and how he takes his job seriously.
Wife Costume
Black Cardigan- The wife of our film noir is going to be wearing dark dull colours to mirror her personality in the film. We want her to strongly contrast to the femme fatale as she will be wearing dark unflattering clothing.Black trousers- Plain black straight line trousers, are still very simplistic and dull.
White blouse- The white blouse shows shes a serious character. It presents her as someone who possibly works and is an independent woman.
Apron- This apron is to show the wife as a stereotypical 1950's housewife. She is shown as hardworking and innocent. e want the audience to sympathize with the character as her husband doesn't respect or show affection for her.
